Velvet Candy.

Hi guys! Thank you for the love on my last post, and I’m sorry I couldn’t keep up last week. Don’t get upset, I have a tutorial video to compensate y’all.😉

IMGL0013-Edit   I’ve always had a thing for velvet and silk. It’s so fascinating to know that velvet was historically made from silk. When I love a particular fabric or piece of clothing, I get interested in the history behind that fabric and I get to know more about the fabric. Velvet is becoming a trend and I was checking out velvet inspiration on pinterest, then it hit me, “make velvet candy(a combination of different color velvet outfit). 🍭🍭

IMGL0081-Edit Velvet has always been a trend from back in the days and not only for women but also for men.

men velvet fashion

Look how cool they look! and oh, velvet suit!! it got all of my attention.

velvet retro 1 Wonder who came up with this amazing idea. Nowadays, the suit is worn without shoulder pad and it still looks amazing! I mean it’s velvet guys!

IMGL0093-EditI decided to play with my pants by adding ruffles to them. There’s this feel of royalty when velvet comes in contact with natural light and trust me, I feel confident (and royal) when wearing velvet.

My red head wrap popularly known as a “turban” complements the emerald green pants and everything just looks so good. Tbh, the turban was as a result of me having a bad hair day but I gats to post for y’all. IMGL0086-Edit

And the earrings. Who wouldn’t love this cutie? 🤷🏽‍♀️This was the perfect accessory I could think of. This look is so smooth yet so harsh, lmaoooo😂😂 (I don’t even know what that meant, but felt nice).

IMGL0116-Edit And of course the green lippie too.😍

IMGL0130-Edit Enough of the velvet talk, how did your weekend go? for me, I had a busy weekend making tutorial videos, cooking, doing assignments and watching horror movies which is life. I love horror movies too so you can drop dope horror movies in the comment section below, one day I’ll blog about them lol. Going back to my movies, be sure to drop other velvet ideas you think would be nice. Thank you, xoxo!🖤

  7. Okay.. So I’ve been saying I am going to check your blog out since its inception but oh well… Its not about me 😀 The blog is amazing. Design wise and your way with words. Great work! I do like the gray pants (Def has a lot to do with the well placed ruffles).

  8. This very interesting I would have never thought about layering different colors of velvet as an outfit. And I like how you manged to pair red and green because i would usually associate those colors with Christmas but your look is giving me elegance and sophistication in this particular look.

  9. Kudos for this post! Well composed with good quality photos. I really love the combination you had on there; and as a guy, I would actually feel good wearing a velvet jacket or sum’n(it just shines in a nice way yunno). And no I don’t buy the ‘bad hair day’s gist, I’m sure you always wanted to wear that turban.
